The sense of cocoon


The term chrysalis may already be familiar to the general public. Most probably only recognize a cocoon as a part of the diversity of fauna in the wild life. Of ciurse, this is also often discussed in biology lessons we’re learned since we sat in Elementary School. Beyond that, there are some areas that have slightly different views on the cocoon, people in these areas have long been utilizing pupae as food that not only make full, but also has a different taste. Type of pupae which are often ate, and the most popular is derived from teak caterpillar. Pupa is often referred to as “Inthung” by surrounding resident, but there is also called “Ungker”.


If the season had arrived when the hardwood leaves have started to run out, then the people will flock to the nearby teak forest to looking for the cocoon. Today, the number of cocoons are not as much as before, despite being in peak season. Sometimes, if you want to get this cocoon should buy directly from the collectors in the forest. Type of cuisine prepares from cocoons can vary, but usually used as a stir-fry or vegetable. Some people also serve food as a snack. However, some people are allergic after eating it in large quantities can cause hives or skin become reddish.
